DVM 1100 Canada and the Challenges of International Development and Globalization (3 units)
Study of the impact of globalization on Canadian society. Analysis of the role Canada plays in international development and globalization.The course will examine government development institutions and policy, the private sector and civil society organizations.

Course Component: Discussion Group, Lecture

Schedule: Tuesday 08:30-09:50 and Friday 10:00-11:20

Requirements:

Requirements:

Ph.D. completed or in progress, or, equivalent experience in the field of social sciences and International Development; university teaching experience is an asset. Candidates must submit a one-to-two page proposal on an important topic, outlining how they would teach this course (theme, content, literature, pedagogy).

This course is part of the In-Depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS).  Experience in this area would be considered an asset. Please note that a minimum of 60% of the student's final grade will be allocated to experiential learning activities.
