Assessment Lead

Job Description

Join our client as an Assessment Lead, contributing proven audit and analysis skills to ensure the integrity of employer registration, billing, and filing systems with our non-profit client in St. Johns, NL.

This permanent role is ideal for a driven professional looking to provide essential analytical support within the framework of workplace safety and provincial economic development in Newfoundland.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and fairness in registration and billings
• Provide analytical support to ensure compliance with acts and regulations
• Approve adjustment transactions on employer accounts
• Monitor departmental performance and assist with training and development
• Analyze employer accounts to provide strategic decisions on complex assessment issues
• Develop and maintain employer forms and informational materials
• Communicate policies and procedures to stakeholders
• Collaborate with IT for system improvement and issue resolution
• Produce reports, prepare presentations, monitor trends and analyze findings to make recommendations
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Attributes for Success:

• Post secondary education with a focus in business, commerce, or accounting
• A professional accounting designation (CPA) is a definite asset
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting/auditing with specific hands-on experience in financial and statistical analysis
• Proficiency with various computer systems and applications
• Thorough knowledge of relevant legislative/safety requirements and industry practices
• Ability to show initiative and independent judgement in decision making
• Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills with professional oral and written communication
