Job Description: The Assessor Coordinator is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region through provision of safe quality care to clients. He/she is responsible for the provision of assessment, intervention, brief counseling, advice, information and referral about Saskatchewan Mental Health and Addictions Services to callers/clients from all age groups. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience



  • 2 years working experience in community mental health and addictions services


Education



  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)


Other Education and Training



  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable

  • Training/experience in Addictions Counseling/Suicide Intervention is preferred

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to work with various electronic, IT and manual resources

  • Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems

  • Must understand and be able to function in a call-centre environment

  • Strong assessment skills required to determine callers’ needs

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to apply evidence-based decision making

  • Ability to respond to clients' varying concerns and complex requests

  • Clinical knowledge in mental illness, addictions, interventions and treatments.
