Assistant Conductor RESOUND Choir

RESOUND Choir seeks a motivated, collaborative, and energetic individual to serve as Assistant Conductor for the choir from mid September 2024 to June 2025.

This position is an opportunity for an emerging conductor to gain experience leading talented community singers in both rehearsal and performance, gain insight into the logistics of leading a choral organization, and to build a portfolio of conducting footage for applications and auditions.

The Assistant conductor will be expected to:

• Attend all rehearsals and concerts during their time of employment (the choir meets from 7:00-9:30pm on Sunday evenings in Oshawa) 
• Assist the Artistic Director of the choir in logistical tasks such as creating a seating/voicing plan 
• Conduct the choir regularly in rehearsals and performances 
• Lead sectional rehearsals and warm-ups as needed 
• Receive feedback and instruction from Artistic Director 
• Offer collaborative insight with regards to artistic programming and the choir’s development 
• Be a member of the choir’s Artistic Advisory Committee which meets two times per year 
• Occasionally meet with choir President, Business Manager, and Artistic Director as requested 

$800 per month is offered for this 10 month, 5 hour per week contract.
