What Is The Opportuniity?

Aecon is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support the ONxpress GO Rail Expansion project. We are proud to support projects that are committed to faster and more convenient travel, ultimately improving transportation experiences. This starts with bringing aboard the best possible team! 

What You Will Do Here:

Assist in establishing and maintaining project budget. 

Enforce change procedures. 

Assist in establishing schedule and staffing plans. 

Ensure all project reporting is accurate and timely. 

Oversee testing, quality, and safety. 

Manage client and vendor relationship. 

Ensure project risks and issues are logged and managed. 

Ensure all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner. 

Demonstrate commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins. 

Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis. 

Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets. 

Oversee procurement including materials and subcontractors. 

Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. 

What You Will Bring to The Team:

Post secondary education in engineering, construction management or equivalent discipline. 

Knowledge and/or experience of the railindustryis preferred. 

Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction. 

General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology. 

Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments. 

Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential, experience of using estimating software is preferred. 

Ability to work effectively within a team environment. 

Skilled at building positive working relationships with internal and external clients. 

Good listening and communication skills.
