Assistant Site Superintendent - Mid Rise

Our client is a company that creates Seniors Housing developments throughout Ontario. The company provides construction management services to construct Retirement Residences, including Seniors’ townhouses in Ontario. They are looking for two experienced Assistant Site Superintendents to support new project developments in Whitby and Aurora. 

Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and execute the project plan and schedule and ensure compliance with budget
  


• Supervise and coordinate all construction activities
  


• Supervise, direct, coach and train Coordinators, hourly Foreman and hourly staff assigned to project
  


• Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements
  


• Assist with obtaining necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors & municipal/provincial authorities
  


• Resolve and advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties 
  


• Other duties as required.
  

Qualifications: 

• Post-secondary degree preferred
  


• A minimum of 5 years’ progressive commercial and/or Mid/High-Rise construction experience
  


• In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
  


• Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job
  


• Experience applying basic engineering principles to construction challenges
  


• Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency
  


• Effective oral and written communication skills
  


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, Project, etc.)
  


• Knowledge of OH&S legislation, policies and procedures
