Assistant Technical Director - Junior Technical Director

The Role

The Assistant Technical Director (ATD) is part of our entry-level role for our Pipeline team or other Technical Director roles such as FX, Lighting, Rigging, and many more. Working at our Montreal Studio, you will have the chance to work on high-end episodic and feature films productions. You may perform a diverse series of technical support and engineering functions in order to ensure the smooth running of our film visual effects projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for Technical Artists, Computer Science, or Computer Graphic graduates looking to break into the world of visual effects.

What you’ll do

• Supporting or troubleshooting the pipeline and workflow tools

• Providing technical assistance to people in creative departments such as Animation, Tracking, and Compositing

• Managing data on a large networked file system

• Using Python script to create tools for artists and improve their workflow

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Computer Science, Digital Art, or a similar related field

• Experience with a variety of commercial graphics applications such as Maya and Nuke

• Good knowledge of Python

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to work well in a collaborative environment

You might also have:

• Good knowledge of Linux and Unix

• Experience in applications such as Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Blender, or other Computer Graphic applications
