We are seeking an inspirational leader to join our Leadership Team as

Associate Director, Digital Technology

As the Associate Director, Digital Technology, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the organization’s digital services, cybersecurity strategy, and enterprise transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing core IT operations while playing a key role in shaping strategic decisions that strengthen our capabilities within a high-assurance, regulated environment. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with deep experience in technology, risk management, and digital innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital Transformation

  • Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives by modernizing legacy platforms and architecting scalable solutions that drive operational agility and resilience.

  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact digital opportunities by partnering across business units to align technology innovation with strategic objectives.

  • Embed data and analytics into core decision-making processes, promoting a culture of insight-driven performance and continuous improvement.

  • Champion the adoption of agile delivery models, design thinking, and human-centered digital solutions to accelerate innovation and improve user experience.

  • Drive organizational change through proactive stakeholder engagement, robust change management strategies, and measurable transformation outcomes.

Cybersecurity and Control

  • Safeguard digital assets by implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity strategies aligned with defence and industry standards.

  • Partner with compliance, risk, and defence stakeholders to ensure regulatory and contractual requirements are met.

  • Lead incident response planning and cyber risk assessments, ensuring organizational readiness.

Services and Support

  • Ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT infrastructure and applications to support business and operational excellence.

  • Lead IT service delivery and support functions to ensure consistent, high-quality technology services.

  • Oversee system performance, uptime, and user satisfaction through best-in-class operational practices.

Leadership

  • Provide strong, visible leadership to a multidisciplinary technology team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Build trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment between technology strategy and business needs.

  • Actively contribute to strategic planning and enterprise leadership forums, representing the digital function with vision and credibility.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered. Advanced credentials such as an MBA, PMP, TOGAF, or industry-specific certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP) are considered strong assets.

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in digital technology, information systems, or operational technology within a manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environment - including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role driving enterprise-level digital transformation.

  • Strong applied knowledge of business systems, enterprise architecture, and technology strategy.

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-year digital modernization programs that have delivered measurable business value, operational efficiency, and technology innovation in regulated or mission-critical settings.

  • Experienced in project management methodologies (PMLC), systems development life cycles (SDLC), and compliance within regulated industries.

  • Solid understanding of IT/OT integration, cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, and digital workplace technologies.

  • Recognized people leader with a record of building, developing, and inspiring high-performance teams; adept at leading through influence, fostering innovation, and driving cultural change.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage credibly at all levels — from technical teams to executive leadership and government/defence partners.

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. The salary range for this role is 156,000 CAD - 206,000 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. RTX offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, disability benefits, a retirement savings program, and tuition assistance through RTX’s Employee Scholar Program. Eligibility for specific benefits is based on factors such as position level, employment type (e.g., temporary or permanent), and business unit, and will be discussed during the hiring process. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
