working with other members of the Conference Planning Team to asses/understand the techincal requirements of each conference event
plan the implementation of the required equipment for each event (answering questions such as: where will the equipment come from? who will be setting it up? will it require an operator?, etc.)
in some cases he/she will setup and operate audio/visual equipment (including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, etc.)
working with our host hotel to establish their technical capibilities and aligning them with our requirements on a per event basis
liasoning with UWaterloo IST and other 3rd party vendors as needed
The ideal canidate for this position is someone who:
has experience as an audio/visual technician
is a fast problem solver and is able to think on their feet and make use of the resources available to them
is commited to providing the very best audio/visual experience to our attendees
has a strong work ethic, but is fun to work with and maintains a sense of humour!
