Auto Body Technician

• Estimate repair cost based on damage examination report
  
• Inspect repaired vehicles
  
• Plan repair work to be performed
  
• Professionalism in customer service
  
• Clean and maintain work space
  
• Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and
  under -body components
  
• File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  
• Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
  
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement
  parts into place
  
• Repair or replace interior components
  
• Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofs
  
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents
  and seams
  
• Straighten bent frames using frame and under -body pulling and anchoring
  equipment
  
  

Requirements

• Must have a
  trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in
  the same occupation.
  
• Must have
  experience working with body components, doors and frames, frame straightening,
  front -end components, interior components, metal cutting, and under -body
  components.
  
• Must be able to work in a fast -paced,
  physically demanding environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and
  perform tasks involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended
  periods.
  
• Must demonstrate accuracy, dependability,
  reliability, judgment, excellent oral communication, and be a team player.
  
• Must be able to communicate in English.
