Job Vacancy – Back Up Q.A. Lead Hand - Evisceration

The Q.A.  Lead Hand ensures that product quality and food safety is maintained. This position requires data to be accurately entered into Agyle through a handheld device.  The Lead Hand will adhere to health and safety, food safety and organizational standards.   The Lead Hand will report directly to the Department Supervisor.

Job Duties:

• Perform CDS, DDS, ES, and presentation testing at selected times and keep a log of results.


• Retests must be performed as required.


• Perform a salvage product inspection each hour.


• Monitor off-line reprocessing once every half shift.


• Complete a quality report on each lot of birds received.


• Record the quality defects for each lot of birds received.


• Record daily condemnations/rejections for each grower.


• Wash hands frequently when performing tests.


• Communicate with Quality Assurance Technologist.


• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure productivity and efficiency, reporting any issues to the applicable Supervisor.

• Participate in educational and training opportunities applicable to the position. 

Requirements:

• Previous Eden Valley Poultry production/sanitation experience.


• Ability to operate various types of machinery.


• Excellent organizational skills.


• Ability to communicate logically ordered objectives.


• Excellent verbal communication skills.


• Strong leadership skills.


• Ability to work as a team.
