Typical duties involve production of baked goods, decorating, packaging, cleaning, and assisting customers as needed.

Job Description – All Round Baker - Jobber

· Travelling to different facilities throughout the lower mainland to relieve for bakers on vacation.

· Reliable transportation is required

Experience

Two to three years working in a retail bakery setting is an asset

Key Responsibilities

· Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations

· Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner

· Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs

· Use of mixer and commercial oven

· Cleaning and sanitizing of bakery equipment

· Order writing

· Daily production of baked goods

· Receiving and rotating of baked product

· Filling Bakery showcases

· Dependable, consciences and punctual

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Ability to learn quickly

· Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

· Highly motivated and team oriented with good interpersonal skills

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form

· Possess strong customer service qualities

· Maintain a clean and safe working area as per Company requirements

· Available to work flexible hours

· Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged

· Physical Requirements

o Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds

o Frequent hand coordination, bending pushing, pulling and twisting

o Occasional lifting of between 20-50 lbs including waist level and low level lifts

o Constant standing, walking, gripping, reaching

· Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety, corporate policies and other programs and initiatives

Join our Bakery Float staff and travel to our Safeway store bakeries throughout the Lower Mainland working relief hours.
