Job Description - Behavioural Case Manager/Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (Full-time Permanent)

This is a Full-time Permanent position.

In this role, the Behavioural Case Manager in collaboration with their multi-disciplinary team will be responsible for delivering the behaviour components of in-home, evidence-based interventions and services to children and youth with autism. This role requires a strong leader who is able to effectively provide orientation, training, coaching, and mentorship of Aides and Interventionists working one-on-one with children.

The BCM must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires a focus on initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Requirements:

  • As a part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide a functional approach to behaviour assessment and treatment for children with a variety of ages, developmental levels, and in a variety of settings
  • Conduct direct and indirect functional behavioural assessments in the home, school, and/or community
  • Lead in the development, modeling, and implementation of skill acquisition and behaviour reduction program plans
  • Regularly collect, graph, and review data with the clinical team and families for ongoing monitoring of program effectiveness (e.g. reinforcement schedules, prompting procedures, stimulus control, maintenance, generalization, etc.)
  • Use Behavioural Skills Training (BST) to coach interventionists and caregivers (i.e. instruction, modelling, rehearsal, feedback)
  • Regular review of behaviour analytic research independently and/or as assigned
  • Problem-solve and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to the clinical team, Interventionists, and families
  • Using a family and/or person-centered approach, consult on respective goals, priorities, plans, and potential barriers to services
  • Work within the policy mandates of the provincial funder, Centre policies, family centered-care, and best practices
  • Collaborate with the clinical team by contributing written objectives within a service plan document and meet all established deadlines for required reports
  • Collaborate with community partners to support the generalization of goals across environments
  • Collaborate with external healthcare providers to support individual and family-centred programming as needed
  • Ensure regular communication and direct contact with families in the home

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will either possess a Master’s Degree and be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or be in the process of completing their Master’s Degree and acquiring hours toward their BCBA certification.

This individual will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in the field of autism or other developmental disabilities.

The successful applicant must obtain a clear criminal record check, updated first aid training, and have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive in and around Calgary.
