Blast Preparation and Execution: Read and accurately interpret blasting diagrams and plans. Safely load blast holes with explosives under the guidance of the Drill & Blast Supervisor, and Lead Blaster. Connect detonation patterns with appropriate timing to ensure controlled and effective blasts. Execute blasting operations according to specified procedures.
Safety Compliance: Handle, store, and transport explosives and blasting accessories in compliance with legal and safety regulations. Adhere to all safety protocols during blasting and handling of explosives to ensure personal and peer safety. Guide equipment such as loaders and bulk explosives trucks to proper blast hole locations.
Documentation and Communication: Complete all required company documentation daily, including reports on blasts and explosive usage. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to confirm task specifications and safety checks.
Operational Support and Improvement: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of blasting materials and supplies. Monitor the inventory of explosives and related supplies. Regularly inspect equipment and tools to ensure optimal working condition. Participate in analysis of blast outcomes and collaborate to identify areas for improvement.
