Our client is a casual, down to earth, tight knit small business seeking a likeminded individual who works well outside of the typical corporate culture. This Bookkeeper/Administrator will bring a small business mentality and thrive working in a versatile role where problem solving, innovation, and systemization is a must.


This role brings ample room for creative control, with the ability to craft new systems and processes that allow the business to evolve to meet their growing client bases needs.


This opportunity is the dream job for someone who craves connection, collaboration, independence, and flexibility. This is a hybrid opportunity that requires a minimum of two days per week in their downtown Calgary office.


Duties and Responsibilities: 


This role is a versatile role that combines elements of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and general administration.


The key job functions are:



  • Preparing and issuing invoices, bills, and financial statements

  • Maintaining and updating accounting records using QuickBooks

  • Reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts

  • Processing payroll and related payroll activities

  • Reviewing and updating internal processes to streamline and optimize efficiency

  • Supporting the team with any ad hoc administrative duties as needed


Education:



  • Post secondary in related field is a requirement


Qualifications:



  • Clean criminal record check

  • Ability to commit to an in-office schedule (2 days/week)


Experience:



  • 3-5 years experience in relevant role (accounting, bookkeeper, etc.)

  • 1-2 years experience in payroll processing

  • Industry experience a strong asset


Skills:



  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and navigate conflicting deadlines

  • Tech savvy in nature, able to support in optimizing current processes/systems

  • Strong team player and supportive personality

  • Flexible and adaptable in nature, able to ‘roll with the punches’ to shifting priorities


Base Salary: $50,000-70,000 per year



  • Salary is dependant upon background and relevant experience.

Work Hours:



  • 30-40 hours per work

  • Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday)


Remote Work:



  • This position is a hybrid opportunity that allows work from home up to three days per week.

  • This role requires two days per week in office (any two days).

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
