Job Description - Branch Manager- Rentco's Tool Shed

Rentco Equipment Ltd. is a locally owned company with over 60 years of experience serving the Peace Country. Known for our reliable equipment and exceptional service, we support oilfield, construction, and homeowner clients across the region. Our reputation was built on having long-term staff who provide excellent customer service, having a well-stocked inventory of parts, sales, and rental equipment, and by hiring those who are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and who enjoy working as part of a team.

We are currently hiring a full-time Branch Manager at Rentco’s Tool Shed.
This position will manage 8 employees with additional staff in the spring.

As the Branch Manager, you are responsible for:

Promptly addressing and resolving customer service issues and elevating serious or repeated issues to Senior Management, when required
Promptly addressing and documenting employee issues and elevating serious or repeated issues to HR, when required
Hire, training, coaching, and developing direct reports to meet company standards
Scheduling, delegating, and prioritizing work on a day-to-day basis
Completing A/R and A/P paperwork correctly and on-time
Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring inventory is completed timely and accurately, and missing items are investigated
Ensuring quality control for our equipment, yard, and shop through random inspections
Ensuring proper records are maintained per Rentco procedures
Conducting performance evaluations for direct reports
Reviewing and approving direct reports hours and submit them to payroll bi-weekly
Attending safety meetings and conducting when necessary
Monitoring costs and identifying ways to reduce unnecessary spending
Ensuring branch revenue meets company targets
Collaborating with Marketing Coordinator to identify and promote marketing and sales strategies
Collaborating with Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure safety compliance, managing hazards, ensuring safety training for direct reports is current, and investigating safety incidents
Representing Rentco Equipment Ltd. as a knowledgeable, professional, and respected brand ambassador who embodies the image and values of the organization
Networking to improve the presence and reputation of the branch/company and representing Rentco in community events to foster community partnerships
Assessing local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities

You have the following skills and abilities:

Previous management experience, preferably in a retail environment
Ability to deliver and promote excellent customer service among staff
Ability to lead a team tactfully and respectfully while achieving results
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to appropriate staff
Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability
Intermediate computer skills
Class 5 licence with a clean abstract and the ability to travel when required
