Position: Brand Manager –Tequila

Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week

Corby’s portfolio of owned brands include some of the most renowned brands in Canada, including JP Wisers, Canadian Whisky, Lamb's Rum, and Polar Ice Vodka. Corby distributes leading Pernod Ricard international brands such as ABSOLUT Vodka, Chivas Regal, Glenlivet, Ballantine’s Scotch Whiskies, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Beefeater Gin, Malibu Rum, Kahlua Liqueur, Mumm Champagne, Jacob's Creek, Wyndham Estate and Stoneleigh wines.

This is a Brand Management role on the dynamic Tequila portfolio! This portfolio consists a diverse mix of top-priority brands with high ambitions:

-New Brands: Newly acquired Codigo Tequila, brought in with high expectations to disrupt their categories as ultra-premium lifestyle brands.

- Core Tequila Brands: Ultimate craft brands and bartender favorites Altos tequila and Del Maguey mezcal, scaling up in the 3rd biggest agave market in the world.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, the responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Developing annual strategic plans to deliver continued growth, both brand equity and commercial, by localizing global brand visions and developing local brand positionings where needed
  • Developing and implementing communication campaigns, promotions and public events delivering on the brands’ key equity challenges to recruiting new consumers
  • Ensuring media-to-shelf visibility, translating the communication campaign to the shopping floor as well as on-premise activations, all designed to recruit more households
  • Building a robust innovation pipeline through careful product introduction planning, working cross-functionally with the brand owner, sales, finance and logistics to ensure a commercially viable product and a solid route to market
  • Keeping the portfolio top of mind internally and building quality and trusting relationships at all relevant levels of the organization, as well as across functions and regions, through strong interpersonal skills, integrity, influencing skills and delivery
  • Analyzing both commercial and brand health data to complete monthly business performance reports translating insights into action
  • Creating and owning the budget plan, ensuring resource allocation in line with the strategy and maximizing impact, and taking responsibility for the P&L, tracking and explaining both positive and negative developments
  • Coordinate special publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of contracts.
  • Oversee program development of Ambassador-led activations relevant to brand portfolio 

Requirements

This exciting role requires a dynamic and experienced Brand Manager with a strong marketing and analytical background, a demonstrated ability to strategize and execute multi-channel marketing programs and the entrepreneurial mindset to scale brands from the ground up and disrupt their categories.

A passion for managing complex contexts is required, ensuring brand plans are rooted in insights and delivering on brand and commercial priorities to ensure business impact.

  • A university degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related discipline is required, Masters degree preferred
  • 4+ years of alcohol beverage marketing experience
  • Prior experience developing and bringing to market new product innovation with familiarity of Stage Gate process
  • Experience delivering presentations to both large audiences as well as in executive settings Strategic vision to ensure consistent plans that will deliver long-terms business priorities
  • Strong business acumen and growth mindset, constantly searching for opportunities to drive business impact
  • Operational excellence, multitasking many complex initiatives with strong organization skills
  • A go-getter attitude, and individual who doesn’t get overwhelmed by big challenges, but thrives on them
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving skills
  • A strong collaborator, and ability to work across-functions to solve problems
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills to convince stakeholders
  • 2+ years of International work experience
  • Experience working with relevant software systems (JDE, Power BI, Concur) and consumer insight tools (Prime, Numerator, ACT)
