Farmery Estate Brewery is one of North America's first estate breweries, and consists of a brewery and family farm that grows ingredients for our beer such as barley and hops. We brew beer, craft spirit-based RTD beverages, and have expanded into non-alcoholic beverages such as malted sodas, mocktails, energy drinks and iced teas. Job Description:


In this role, you will work as part of the production team to assist the Brewmaster in the tasks needed to brew excellent beer and beverages, and maintain a clean & safe working environment.


Responsibilities and Duties



  • Help in cleaning and sanitizing production equipment

  • Examining beer to verify conformity to quality standards

  • Measure and monitor production parameters for conformity, and notifying the supervisor of any malfunctions.

  • Meeting or exceeding all production goals on a consistent basis.

  • Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment(PPE), food safety gear, and follow SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times

  • Canning beer and beverages, operating and maintaining canning and other equipment

  • Filling out of production & shipping documents as required

  • Filling beer into kegs. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and handle a filled keg

  • Continual lifting, carrying, and manipulating of hoses, parts, pumps, buckets, and reservoirs, requiring standing, walking, crouching, and lifting regularly throughout the duration of shift

  • General housekeeping of the brewhouse and fermentation area

  • Inventory control and reporting

  • Preparation of orders, loading and unloading distributor trucks

  • operation of a forklift to lift, distribute, load and unload pallets

  • Working on the farm and in hopyard doing related farm-labour tasks as needed


Qualifications and Skills



  • Experience in a production environment

  • Some experience of brewing preferred and a definite asset

  • forklift experience is a plus

  • Stable work history

  • Ability to:

    • Meet production schedules

    • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment,

    • Stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, stoop, lift, reach over shouldersand perform repetitive motions without issue

    • Do some basic math

    • Well independently as well as with a team

    • Manage multiple processes at one time



  • Willingness to learn new skills

  • Experience with proper handling of potentially hazardous materials

  • Aptitude for operating complex machinery

  • Experience and ability or aptitude in operating a forklift

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Self-motivated with good time-management skills

  • Flexible schedule with the possibility of working on Saturdays and Sundays.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent


Pay: $15.30-$18.00 per hour


Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week


Schedule:



  • Evening shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • Weekends as needed

  • Production plant: 1 year (preferred)
