Bus Driver

Employment Opportunity 

The Eskasoni School Board is now accepting applications for a school bus driver for the upcoming 2025-26 school year.

Position:  School Bus Driver

Job Type: Full time (September to June) with paid summers off 

Start date: September 2025

Reporting to: Bus Lead

Job Duties:

• Safely transporting students to and from following the established routes.


• Ensure students safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing the street while the bus is stopped. 


• Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety. 


• Maintain bus cleanliness.


• Report any mechanical problems to the supervisor.


• Submit reports in a timely manner for ie: daily logs, incident reports.


• Maintain regular pick up times. 


• May transport students outside of school hours to extracurricular activities. 

Requirements:

• Valid Nova Scotia Driver's license (Class 2B with air brake endorsement)


• Grade 12 or equivalent or acceptable training and experience.


• Minimum of 19 years of age.


• Valid First Aid with CPR or willing to obtain upon hire.


• WHMIS


• Acceptable Abstract of Driver’s license. 


• Ability to do proper daily bus inspections and complete forms required.


• Demonstrate a high standard of safety and ability to properly handle and relate to students.
