Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is a premier co-educational day school nestled in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains just outside of the City of Calgary on a 220-acre campus. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, STS offers all three IB Programmes from Kindergarten through to Grade 12.


In addition to the global perspective offered by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, the School offers an extensive co-curricular program in a technology-rich environment. Students take advantage of the amazing natural setting including a small pond, forest, and extensive trail system to complement their academic learning.

Position Overview



STS is currently seeking a casual Bus Driver to join the team. Reporting to the Deputy Head: Operations & Student Experience (Deputy Head), the Bus Driver will support school operations by driving one of the school vehicles, specifically a 2025 24-passenger Ford Mini-Coach bus, to transport students, and possibly members of the school community, to events and activities outside of regular school hours.


Driving needs will be on a casual basis and may fluctuate throughout the school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate positive interactions with students and members of the school community and maintain a high degree of professionalism.


Hours of Service limitations will apply.



Core Areas of Responsibility



· Drive the 24-passenger Mini-Coach bus to transport students, and possibly members of the school community, to events and activities outside of regular school hours.


· Drive the bus during school days, usually starting at 2:30pm (other start times may be required).


· Be available for some full day weekend trips (including some overnight trips).


· Maintain a driving log which will be shared with the Deputy Head.


· Provide safe, calm, and reliable bus ride experiences for all passengers.


· Be adaptable and flexible.



Qualifications and Experience



· A minimum of 5 years’ driving experience with winter driving experience.


· A valid Class 4 driver’s license with an “S” endorsement is required.


· Must provide the school with a valid Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search.


· Must be available for shifts starting at 2:30 pm on weekdays and some weekend driving.


· Experience working/interacting with children is an asset.


· Demonstrate professionalism, care, and compassion.


· Demonstrate and uphold a strong commitment to occupational health and safety.
