Reporting to the Manager, Client Services, the Business Application Support Specialist plays a key role in facilitating the delivery of Information Technology (IT) services to users within an organisation by enabling the required business processes needed for the operation to be successful. The incumbent is responsible for enabling people to execute their responsibilities within their relevant business processes, by providing logistical support, IT-liaison services, coordination, and subject matter expert-based insights as well as for staying up to date on current Motor Vehicle Information System / Drivers License and General ID Card (MVIS/DLGIC) application functionality and features and furthering the understanding of the various practical uses of the application to support the evolving needs of Community Services and its collaboration partners.
The Business Application Support Specialist’s main responsibilities are but are not limited to:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized diploma in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; along with two (2) years of relevant experience in process-driven applications, integration and workflow analysis and development. This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
