Job Description - Business Development Associate

Business Development Associate (Full-Time, Remote in Toronto Area) 

Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre is a growing organization with an exciting mission: accelerating the growth and impact of cleantech ecosystems across Canada. We bring together industry, government, academia, investors, and innovators to address today’s most urgent climate issues. Join us! 

We are seeking a Business Development Associate to cultivate and manage strategic partnerships, foster collaboration with external stakeholders, and support the growth of our partnerships ecosystem. Working under the Director, Partnerships, this position requires a combination of relationship-building, project management, and communication skills, along with a proactive and innovative approach to partnership development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and technology to join our dedicated team, working towards building successful partnerships with leading Canadian and International companies.

Identify and close low- to mid-level funding opportunities across Foresight’s various initiatives.

Draft and refine funding proposals targeted towards private sector partners.

Conduct regular check-ins for low- and mid-value Partnerships, including event sponsorships.

Creation of new sponsorship opportunities for investors, Start-up Visa, and Foresight’s eLearning Platform.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including coordinating activities, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related field.

1-3 years experience in sales, marketing, or business development roles.

Strong networking abilities with the capability to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry contacts.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, interpret market trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Negotiation skills and experience in negotiating contracts and partnerships.

Experience with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot).

Proactive attitude, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong drive for success.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Job Type: Full-time, Remote but Toronto based 

Rate: $55,000-65,000 Base + benefits (key is best fit and experience for the role)
