Job Description - Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager – Packaging


Location: Toronto, ON



About the Role


We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition and build our presence within the CPG market.



This is a high-impact, new business role focused on identifying, engaging, and winning new CPG brands. You will be responsible for building your own pipeline, closing new accounts, and helping expand our footprint in a rapidly growing market.



Key Responsibilities



  • Identify, target, and acquire new CPG customers across North America, prioritizing opportunities in Ontario  and the GTA.

  • Conduct cold outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate new sales opportunities.

  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified CPG prospects.

  • Schedule and attend in-person meetings and facility visits with prospects across Ontario and the GTA.

  • Present our packaging capabilities and develop custom packaging solutions based on customer needs.

  • Prepare proposals and negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to close new business.

  • Work closely with internal teams (estimating, production, and customer service) to ensure accurate         quoting and smooth onboarding of new clients.

  • Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and pipeline in CRM systems.

  • Represent us at industry trade shows, events, and networking events; and conduct pre-show prospect outreach and post-show follow-ups to convert leads and opportunities into new business.

  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual new revenue targets.



Qualifications & Experience



  • 3+ years of business development or new business sales experience in a B2B environment.

  • Strong preference for candidates with:

  • Experience selling to CPG brands, or

  • Direct experience working within the CPG industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business.

  • Experience selling manufacturing, packaging, printing, or supply chain services is an asset.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong hunter mentality and ability to work independently.



Requirements



  • Based in the Toronto / Greater Toronto Area.

  • Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license.

  • Access to a reliable vehicle for local client visits and prospect meetings.

  • Ability to travel locally within Ontario and the GTA, with occasional travel across North America as needed.
