Job Description - Business Development Representative

We are desiring to recruit an expert Business Development Representative to join our high calibre team at MistyWest in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

This role is for a sales-minded person passionate about promoting services and finding new clients. We need someone ready to take ownership for the top of MistyWest's funnel, specifically for finding highly aligned Mining Tech startups.   

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Get connected in an industry critical to the global energy transition: mining;
  • Learn about cutting-edge technology in embedded systems and optics; 
  • Build digital networking and communication skills that can be used to find and open doors in any career. 
  • Have a career path to becoming a Business Developer or Account Executive. 

Responsibilities:

  • Add to the top of MistyWest’s funnel primarily by:
  • Researching accounts and leads within narrowly defined criteria
  • Conduct high-quality, tailored outreach across channels (phone, email, LinkedIn) to secure introductory meetings
  • Learn how to engage with clients by joining in introductory meetings with senior team members
  • Meeting lead generation target - 2 intro calls with qualified leads per week.

Advancement path:

  • When ready, begin leading introductory calls and eventually fly solo to secure opportunities from introductory calls
  • Continue to engage further and further down the funnel, eventually closing deals
  • 1+ years of experience in an outbound sales role
  • Interest in emerging technologies, especially related to Mining, Climate Tech, and Smart Infrastructure
  • Ability to learn new things quickly

Nice to have:

  • Technical product development experience
  • Knowledge of mine exploration and operations
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems, industrial IoT, and computer vision
  • Total compensation consists from base salary and bonus part. The base salary range is from 51k to 59k + the forecasted bonus is 19k/yearly and more. 
  • 4 weeks paid vacation and 5 sick days annually
  • An additional 2 weeks of Support leave for parents, caregivers and bereavement
  • Banked Time: We don’t expect overtime for this role. You can exceed the lead generation targets and get $200 per intro call with qualified leads.
