Job Description - Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary

Location: Delta, B.C

In this performance-based company, the IT Business System Analyst works closely with business unit owners to develop solutions that will support their needs from a business systems perspective. This position is responsible for supporting existing systems and developing specifications to provide to development for custom applications, business intelligence tools, and reports which meet short and long-term corporate objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles
  • Follow all Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding
  • Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with business stakeholders and IT leadership to translate business requirements to project scope and propose new ideas for improving business operations
  • Maintain and communicate accurate and up-to-date business documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions
  • Analyze existing systems and processes for opportunities to improve usability, stability, security, and functionality.
  • Build consensus and facilitate dialog with stakeholders throughout the organization (and external vendors)
  • Construct work and process flow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write functional requirements and mockups
  • Provide user support for existing business systems and escalate to external support where required.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and business processing skills
  • Strong listening & customer-facing consulting skills with the ability to influence, advise, mediate and control scope
  • Strong problem-solving, project management and change management skills
  • Experience using Epicor 11/Kinetic in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using technologies such as Docuware, Microsoft Office Suite would be an asset
  • Must be well-organized with exceptional follow through skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work on and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with persons at all levels.
  • Must possess superior time management skills (including multi-tasking) in a fast-paced environment
Education/Training
  • College Diploma or post-secondary education in Computer Sciences/Information Technology; or minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
Be technically proficient in:
  • Developing requirements documents
  • Project managing from design through either development or software identification to implementation
Experience
  • 5+ years experience supporting the Epicor ERP 11/Kinetic in a Manufacturing environment
  • Good grasp of accounting systems, business processes, systems analysis, and design methods
  • Experience working with Docuware, Microsoft Office and other business systems an asset
