Could you be the full-time Buyer in Mississauga we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and strategic sourcing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and supportive teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects by managing supplier relationships and supporting our global supplier panel to achieve quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) objectives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including commodity managers, project managers, and internal stakeholders, to ensure seamless sourcing processes, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of deploying commodity strategies and managing supplier relationships, but also supporting project execution and ensuring compliance with Alstom's sourcing processes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting global supplier panel relationships and managing specific supplier relationships, including negotiations and performance monitoring

  • Ensuring supplier performance meets QCDT objectives and addressing initial issues before escalation

  • Consolidating commodity needs and actively participating in strategy and panel development

  • Providing inputs to enhance differentiation and supporting commodity managers during tender phases

  • Coordinating and launching Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers

  • Leading project negotiations and monitoring sourcing project evolution

  • Managing change requests and ensuring cost optimization in coordination with stakeholders

  • Participating in project management committees and preparing weekly reports

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the industry, preferably in procurement or sourcing roles

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and communication

  • Experience or understanding of supplier relationship management

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and contract negotiation

  • Familiarity with QCDT principles and their application in project execution

  • Proficiency in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards leadership roles or other career paths within Alstom

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
