Job Description - Buyer

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Buyer to join our purchasing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to grow within the procurement and supply chain field. You’ll be responsible for placing orders, working with vendors, and supporting inventory coordination—all in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Vendor Communication



  • Build positive working relationships with suppliers

  • Follow up on order details and delivery schedules


Product Sourcing & Purchasing




    • Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers

    • Place purchase orders and maintain accurate records


    Inventory & Logistics Support



    • Work with warehouse and inventory teams to track stock levels

    • Ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve shipment delays


    Problem Solving



    • Handle issues such as delayed shipments or product quality concerns

    • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to find solutions


    Market Awareness



    • Stay informed on industry trends and supplier options

    • Make purchasing suggestions based on product research


    Freight Coordination



    • Collect and compare freight quotes

    • Recommend the most efficient and cost-effective shipping options


    Team Collaboration



    • Support sales, operations, and other departments with procurement needs


     SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES



    • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)

    • Good attention to detail and time management

    • Clear and professional communication skills

    • Willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment

    • Detail oriented

    • Ability to lead and supervise a team 


    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION



    • Minimum of a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required

    • A degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred

    • Previous experience in a buying or procurement role preferred but not required

    • Experience within a Microsoft environment, (Excel, Word, outlook etc.) is an asset
