Cabinetmaker (Millworker)

We are looking for a highly skilled craftsperson with experience in woodworking, the ability to create intricate and complex custom pieces, as well as building bespoke cabinets, furniture, and other custom designed woodwork pieces. This is a full-time, hourly position that requires technical knowledge and experience in carpentry, woodworking and cabinetry. The individual in this role will work independently and must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Mill-Right Woodworking Inc. is a small manufacturing facility that has thrived for the past 25+ years designing, building and installing custom commercial woodwork (millwork). We have worked on many exciting construction projects, such as Queen’s Marque, Salt & Ash, Darya, Halifax Central Library, the Bicycle Thief and more. We take pride in bringing our clients vision to reality, from custom display cases, bench seating, and cabinetry to fine woodworking such as suspended wood slat ceilings and fully custom statement millwork.

If you are interested in working on interesting Millwork projects that challenge you, then this may be the position for you.  This position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Bedford, NS, with periodic travel to job sites throughout the Atlantic Provinces.

Regular hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. Occasionally hours may differ depending on project requirements.

What you'll do:

• Read and build products according to architectural drawings.


• Assemble and finish cabinet and millwork components according to drawing specifications.


• Install cabinet and millwork components according to drawing specifications.


• Dedication to quality craftsmanship.


• Operate and use a variety of hand tools and equipment.


• Travel throughout the Maritimes is a periodic requirement to assist with on-site installation.

What you need:

• Grade 12 or GED


• Five (5) years’ experience in cabinet (millwork) production/ custom woodworking


• Ability to lift heavy objects


• Ability to read architectural drawings


• Strong communication skills


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  


• Formal education or training in the millwork field would be an asset


• Ability to work both as a team member and individually


• Ability to always maintain highest level of standards


• CSA Safety Approved footwear
