Job Description
The CAD Technician is responsible for creating 3D CAD model configurations for customer projects. They will provide customer sign-off drawings with finishes, manufacturing drawings, installation layout drawings, and BOMs for Production Order generation. Attention to detail and knowledge of furniture construction are key aspects of this role.
Other responsibilities include:

• ● Able to produce high quality CAD drawings for manufacture and client sign off


• ● Document control within Autodesk Vault to obtain the correct drawings & files


• ● BOM generation and management within Inventor


• ● Works Order generation within inventor and excel


• ● Version and revision control for project drawings


• ● Creation of 3D CAD models and 2D Part Drawings to company standards


• ● Production & manufacturing assembly drawings


• ● Create machine files for the factory – Woodwork for inventor and WoodWop


• ● Packaging Design & Trials – Not needed


• ● Support with customer sign off drawings for product


• ● Support with manufacture & assembly of new product prototypes


• ● Identify product improvements & best production methods for new products


• ● Project Drawings provided on time – In line with project task dates


• ● Accuracy in drawings generated – Measured by reworks attributed to design


• ● Accuracy in Works Orders – No re-works unless a customer change request

Qualifications

• ●Teamwork & communication


• ●Proficient in CAD Software – Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks)


• ●Experience in using Autodesk Vault (preferable)


• ●Skilled in creating 2D Manufacturing Drawings


• ●Industrial Design Experience


• ●Flexibility to get the job done


• ●Product knowledge


• ●Quality Control and attention to detail


• ●Project Management & Planning for tasks prioritisation


• ●Practical / Hands on approach


• ●Positive attitude


• ●Solutions oriented with ability to identify potential product / process problems.
