Cafeteria Supervisor

New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Cafeteria Supervisor at Peace Wapiti Academy in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure an excellent dining experience for students and staff by leading and supporting cafeteria team members


• Oversee the preparation of a wide variety of nutritious hot and cold meals, including sandwiches, salads, fruits, vegetables, and entrees, ensuring compliance with school nutrition and safety guidelines


• Monitor accurate portioning, proper storage, and product rotation to maintain food quality and safety standards


• Ensure all food items are consistently well-presented, labeled, and fully stocked during meal service


• Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, quantity, and presentation across all cafeteria offerings


• Lead the execution of cafeteria merchandising initiatives, such as daily specials or themed menus, to encourage student participation and promote healthy choices


• Supervise and support staff with daily operations, cleaning, sanitizing procedures, and adherence to food safety protocols


• Perform and delegate additional duties as required to ensure smooth and efficient cafeteria operations

Who you are and what you have:

• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team


• Positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach to working in a school environment


• Previous supervisory experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field preferred


• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support a collaborative team environment


• Some light to moderate lifting may be required (up to 50 lbs)


• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

• Availability to work Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (some evening or weekend shifts may be needed)


• Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector screening
