Job Description - Camp Activity Assistants (Internal for QMS Students)

Role Purpose
Deliver pre-planned children’s camp activities on Pro-D and mid-term break days — this is an implementation-only role; no planning required.


Key Responsibilities



  • Set up, run, and pack down pre-planned activities under the direction of the Teacher Supervisor.

  • Provide active supervision, support inclusion, and follow sign-in/out and headcount routines.

  • Apply safety practices and promptly escalate issues/incidents to the Teacher Supervisor.

  • Care for equipment and facilities, including basic cleaning/reset of spaces after sessions.

  • Communicate warmly and professionally with participants and teammates.


Requirements



  • QMS Senior School student with reliable attendance and a positive attitude with children.

  • Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team; strong communication skills.

  • Physically able to be on feet, move light equipment, and work both indoors and outdoors.

  • Completion of QMS orientation (policies, child protection, emergency procedures).

  • First Aid/CPR an asset (not required).


Safeguarding & Supervision



  • A Teacher Supervisor is on-site at all times. Students implement the program; the teacher does not run activities.

  • Adherence to all QMS child-safety policies and procedures is mandatory.


Availability & Hours



  • Casual shifts on Pro-D days and selected mid-term break days.

  • Hours vary by program (e.g., approximately 7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.).
