Job Requirements:
In this role, MATRIX is seeking an experienced Camp Kitchen Attendant for our MLA Camp located in the Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut. You are team oriented, motivated, and have have a high attention for details, accuracy, and can prioritize tasks. You will play a key role at one of our remote camps by performing all primary responsibilities in a timely manner independently. This position reports to the Executive Chef. Start date for this position is between November - December, 2025.
Responsibilities
Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
First cook of unsafe practices and unsafe environment.
Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
Perform dish washing as per Food Safety Plan.
Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and smallware's as per the camps' Food Safety Plan and Covid protocols.
Make sandwiches daily, as per directed menu plans, ensuring quality and freshness at all times.
Support food safe storage and labeling of potential food allergy items.
Ensure food storage areas are organized.
Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
Wash and replace bed linens as required.
Clean and sanitize Dry Area
Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry room
Required Knowledge & Experience
Minimum of two (2) years working in a remote camp as a Camp/Kitchen Attendant
Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills.
Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
Ability to work a rotational schedule.
Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift.
Paid Travel, Travel Day Pay, Per Diems
Day rate $295, based on 12 hour shifts
This position is working on a rotational 3 Weeks in 3 Weeks out schedule (Fully Remote).
