What is the role:
In this role, you will lead Elastic’s initiatives in campaign governance, metadata architecture, and AI-driven workflow optimization, focusing on the strategy, design, and operational integrity of our global marketing efforts. We seek a candidate who is technically curious, an operations pro, an early adopter of AI, and committed to ensuring our marketing strategy translates perfectly into system data.
Process Engineering and Optimization is a pivotal division within Marketing Operations, consisting of dedicated individuals who excel in bridging the gap between high-level strategy and technical execution. We prioritize implementing intelligent, strategic, and scalable methods to drive continuous advancement.
What you’ll be doing:
Governance Framework Design: Develop and implement global campaign governance standards, ensuring all marketing activities adhere to a unified campaign hierarchy, metadata structure, and naming convention.
Metadata Architecture: Work with business, analytics, and engineering teams to define and maintain the "Source of Truth" for campaign metadata, ensuring that strategic attributes (persona, product line, region) are collected accurately
System Translation: Collaborate with marketing and sales partners to craft user stories that collect detailed business requirements for campaign system enhancements and attribution tracking.
Visualizing Logic: Prepare visual diagrams of campaign flows, data inheritance models, and automated "hand-off" points between AI tools and core systems.
Operational Efficiency: Run the analysis of crucial metrics in campaign performance, partnering closely with IT and Marketing Operations to optimize operational efficiencies and uphold system reliability.
Drive enhancements in our first-party campaign management tooling and SFDC through written requirements and user stories.
Documentation & Enablement: Maintain detailed documentation and internal communication materials by handling Project Management tools, FAQs, and ensure clarity and traceability of requirements.
AI Workflow Engineering: Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI agents and LLMs into marketing workflows to automate repetitive tasks, such as metadata tagging, content audits, campaign QA and insights.
What you bring along:
3+ years of previous experience, ideal candidate will have Marketing and/or Sales Operations experience with a focus on campaign execution.
Campaigns at Scale - Prior experience working in an environment working on a team that delivered thousands of campaigns per year.
AI & Automation Savvy: Hands-on experience or a strong proficiency in using AI tools or autonomous agents to improve operational workflows, data cleansing, or process automation.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Confirmed technical knowledge of campaign hierarchies, metadata structures, and lead/campaign management processes.
Technical Stack: Proficient in marketing software, with hands-on experience in Marketo preferred; familiarity with Salesforce, ideally with Salesforce admin experience and experience with Lead, Contacts, Campaigns, Accounts, and Campaign Member objects.
Systems Thinking: Proven experience implementing sophisticated technical projects where strategy must be translated into rigid system logic and metadata. Experience in project management platforms (Workfront, Monday, Asana).
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adjust the level of detail depending on the audience, from technical IT teams to executives.
Accountability: Dedication to thoroughness and effective execution, with a strong ability to take accountability for the integrity of global marketing data.
Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in marketing, computer science, or a related field.
Distributed Outlook: Comfortable working on a fully distributed team and navigating an "elastic" work environment.
Bonus Points:
Basic proficiency in Python and experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Cursor etc.) and prompt engineering.
Experience building RAG systems and working with vector databases.
Proficiency with API integration, webhooks, and workflow automation tools.
Working knowledge automation tools (Zapier, Make.com, n8n).
