ABOUT US

In December 2024, We'koqma'q First Nation (WFN) announced the purchase of 15 acres of land next to our community, Glenview Riverside Campground. We are excited to continue regular operations of the campground for the 2025 season and are looking for a dedicated and experienced Campground Manager to oversee its operations.

The campground offers a serene and picturesque retreat along the banks of the Skye River. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Breton Island, this campground is a perfect destination for those looking to explore the outdoors while enjoying the comforts of a well-maintained site. The campground’s riverside setting provides a peaceful atmosphere where visitors can relax, unwind, and immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings.

The campground offers a variety of accommodations, including spacious RV sites with full hookups, tent sites, and cozy cabins. Each site is designed to provide privacy and comfort, with many offering scenic views of the river. The cabins are fully equipped, making them a great option for those seeking a more comfortable stay while still enjoying the camping experience.

The well-kept grounds, clean facilities, and friendly service make Glenview Riverside Campground a welcoming place for both short-term visitors and seasonal campers.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Campground Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of Glenview RV Campground. This includes ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, maintaining the campground facilities, managing staff, and overseeing financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a passion for outdoor recreation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily operations of the campground, including guest services, reservations, and maintenance.


• Manage and train campground staff, ensuring a high standard of service and professionalism.


• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and satisfaction of guests.


• Monitor and maintain campground facilities, including cabins, restrooms, and recreational areas.


• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.


• Manage the campground budget, including revenue collection, expense management, and financial reporting.


• Promote the campground through marketing and community outreach efforts.


• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to campground operations.


• Coordinate with local vendors and service providers for supplies and maintenance needs.


• Plan and organize events and activities to enhance the guest experience.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Certification in hospitality management or related field.


• First Aid and CPR certification.


• Experience with marketing and promotional activities.


• Previous experience in campground or hospitality management.


• Strong leadership and team management skills.


• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.


• Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.


• Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.


• Familiarity with reservation systems and campground management software.


• Passion for outdoor activities and environmental stewardship.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
