Camps Coordinator - Term 


Department:  Governance & Executive Operations 


Location: Tr’ondek Hwech’in Offices – Dawson, YT 


Posting Date:  April 3, 2025 


Standard Hours Bi-Weekly:  75 


Start Date:  Immediately 


End Date:  April 1, 2028 


Salary:  Level 7 Step 1 ($86,229.00 annually) 


 


Closing Date 4:00pm (YST):  April 16, 2025 


 


Reporting to the Events and Consultations Coordinator, the incumbent works with various TH Departments to plan, coordinate, organize and implement TH Government land-based camps. 


 


An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:



  • Practical experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of camps and events. Post-secondary course work in project management, event planning or related discipline is an asset. An equivalent combination of education, knowledge, skills and experience may be considered. 



  • Experience being on the land, working remotely and ensuring health and safety in an off-grid setting. 



  • Strong records management, coordination, organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.  



  • Ability to manage stress effectively, exercise good judgment and respond to changing circumstances (for example, weather, staff shortages, etc.). 



  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of TH history, culture and traditions. 



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships, with an ability to bring people together in support of shared goals and fostering a cooperative working environment. 



  • Ability to work independently in establishing and meeting responsibilities and priorities. 



  • remaining composed under pressure, and addressing Citizen and staff concerns with empathy, care and understanding. 



  • Self motivated, dependable and reliable. 


 


Conditions of Employment: 




    • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. 



    • Valid Class 4 Driver’s License and a clear Driver’s abstract. 



    • Wilderness First Aid Training or willingness to obtain. 



    • TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
