We believe in traditional instructor-led training integrated with guided hands-on skills practice, and one-on-one support is always available. Technical skills are very important, and we also concentrate equally on communication and interpersonal skills.

To help maintain and grow these standards, we're seeking an experienced Campus Director to oversee daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in managing multiple departments for maximum productivity. This person will be responsible for ensuring the campuses meets all accreditation, regulatory and legal requirements.

This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer with the responsibility of heading both Campbell College campuses in Edmonton.

Objectives of Role

  • Drives the campus' strategic planning process, participating in business/operating reviews.
  • Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of both campuses.
  • Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of both campuses.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, including compliance.
  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company's internal capacity.
  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
  • Total profit and loss responsibility for the campuses including budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable department.
  • Acts as the campus' authority on issues related to registration and contracts, curriculum, student and employee relations, Ministry and other regulatory agency standards, operational matters.

Responsibilities

Financial Accountability

  • Monitor and manage actual revenue, operational and capital expenditures to meet approved budget percentages.
  • When expenditures are not in line with established percentages of revenue, prepare a plan of action to remedy the situation and present it to the CEO.
  • When discrepancies are found, report such to the Finance Director and/or the CEO.
  • Monitor campus service provider contracts to ensure we are obtaining the lowest cost provider without sacrificing quality.

Administrative

  • Ensure that class schedules are up to date and prepared far enough in advance to ensure both instructors and facility requirements can be accommodated. Schedules must have at least the course code and instructor(s) name(s) listed and maintained.
  • Attendance problems are to be dealt with at once as per the attendance policy and procedures in place, which may be revised from time to time. If attendance problem is not resolved by discussion take appropriate action to resolve the problem.
  • Assist with development of policies and procedures that are consistent with Commonwealth Education Group philosophy, Alberta Ministry and Private Career College requirements.
  • Implement the policies and procedures established by the College.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are communicated to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure faculty and staff are aware of new Ministry, PCC or Alberta Student Aid policies or procedures and that they adhere to them.
  • Ensure compliance with policies both internal and Ministry rules.
  • Suggest policy changes and options.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with support staff (both admissions and financial) re issues that affect both parties.
  • Chair faculty and/or administration meetings.
  • Participate in student and new faculty orientation.
  • Continue training and development of staff in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Ensure all staff are properly notified to any changes in policies, procedures, or government regulations relevant to the college

Promotional

  • Represent the College at various school-related functions, either individually or with the CEO.
  • Assist the program and placement coordinators to promote graduates to employers.
  • Participate in promotional activities, both internal and external, designed to promote the College and its programs to the public and potential students.
  • Meet with businesses that employ our students and see how we can improve our programs.

Program Development

  • Liaise with the CEO and Executive Director of Education regarding new programming ideas.
  • Recommend new programs for development.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Participate in discussions re standards for admissions to various programs.
  • Assist in preparing submissions to the Ministry for new program offerings as requested. This may include meeting with employers to be placement hosts and getting practicum agreements signed.

Campus Maintenance

  • Oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of both campuses; ensuring that each campus is safe, functional, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate and supervise repair work, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Monitor building systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and emergency response plans.
  • Oversee security measures, including surveillance systems and access control.
  • Prepare and manage the building maintenance budget.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Conduct regular campus inspections to ensure compliance with lease agreements.
  • Select and oversee contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensure vendors meet contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance.
  • Plan and manage space allocations and layout changes.
  • Coordinate renovations and refurbishments as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Five or more years of proven success in an operations management and business development role.
  • Highly experienced in the private post-secondary sector considered a great asset.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage diverse teams and complex operations.
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of Campbell College operations and customer service.
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and an aptitude for learning new applications.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts with students and employees.
  • Adept at recognizing market trends affecting the business and making recommendations to maintain competitiveness.
  • Proven ability to set and achieve goals.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
