We have a current opening for a Canada BU People Generalist - Toronto and are actively reviewing applications.


 



The People Generalist – Toronto supports the Toronto PBP with day-to-day operations related to the full employee lifecycle. They are in charge of maintaining system’s data accuracy, compliance related to documentation, support in respecting Toronto’s related projects from a P&O standpoint and acting as a point of contact for all COEs/Corporate PBPs interaction in support of the Toronto PBP. 

Main Responsibilities:

•    Supports the Canada BU PBP in the preparation of documents aimed at the resolution of employee relations issues. Supports in the application of local employment standards/legislation while respecting consistency and compliance of company practices. 
•    Provides support in cascading Human Resources practices and policies such as: attendance, code of ethics, ways of working, etc. Works with the Canada BU PBP in developing practices that promote a positive work environment to support morale and motivation for the BU. 
•    Conducts exit interviews
•    Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
•    Manage in coordination with Canada BU PBP all leave of absences as per ESA, LOA’s as per benefit provider
•    Coordinates with Canada BU PBP in defining of return-to-work plans
•    Manages New Employee Progress reports and provides support to ensure annual performance evaluations are completed 
•    Support in preparing relevant documentation for employee coaching sessions 
•    Provides support in the monitoring of Individual development plans
•    Supports the recruitment process of the Canada BU and leads it for junior level positions. 
•    Manages the tracking of recruitment activities and management of HCs and Budget in coordination with the Canada BU PBP
•    Conducts employee Onboarding sessions
•    Supports the Canada BU PBP to prepare P&O content for annual employee training sessions 
•    Supports development, successful rollout and expected % completion achievement of training plans for the Canada BU
•    Responsible to ensure all organizational announcements and communication is made available timely
•    Supports the Canada BU PBP in the monitoring of organizational culture in support of attaining the company’s goals while promoting employee satisfaction 
•    Support deployment of the biannual You Survey, communication of results and the potential development of action plans 
•    Supports implementation of action plans developed as a result of You Surveys
•    Supports in the organization of Employee Initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives within the Canada BU
•    Assists the Canada BU PBP in the implementation of Safety and Security initiatives for the Commercial force and local functions ensuring coordination with relevant COEs
•    Provides general and system support to the Canada BU managers during the annual salary review process for salaried employees 
•    Support recognition programs approved by Group/Area

About You:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related fields required, Master’s Degree is a plus
•    CHRL designation preferred
•    4+ years of experience as a People Generalist
•    Leadership team exposure (Plant, Location, etc) preferred
•    CPG experience is a plus
•    Knowledge and experience developed in complex organizations (preferably matrix organizations)
•    Good knowledge of local employment laws and practices
•    Solid generalist experience in the execution of all facets of human resources, with a particular emphasis on Recruitment and Retention, Employee Relations and Employee Communications.
•    Ability to communicate with all levels of staff. Hands on approach.
•    Able to work effectively with partners and staff on projects, office events and activities towards maintaining/strengthening our company culture. 
•    Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. 
•    Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitive information

The base compensation range for this position is $84,000 - 112,000 CAD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.


 


In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
