Cargo Handler

We are seeking a physically fit and reliable Cargo Handler to join our logistics and transportation team. The Cargo Handler will be responsible for loading, unloading, and securing cargo, ensuring that goods are handled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This role is crucial in supporting smooth cargo operations within warehouses, airports, and shipping terminals.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move cargo, freight, and materials safely and efficiently.

• Check cargo against documentation to ensure accuracy in weight, labeling, and destination.

• Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor belts (if trained and authorized).

• Secure and protect cargo to prevent damage during transit.

• Assist in sorting and staging freight for dispatch and delivery.

• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE and equipment handling protocols.

• Inspect cargo for damage and report discrepancies or irregularities.

• Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to meet operational deadlines.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of cargo handling areas.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience as a Cargo Handler, Warehouse Operative, or similar role preferred.

• Good physical strength and stamina for lifting and moving heavy loads.

• Knowledge of cargo handling procedures, logistics, or aviation operations is an advantage.

• Ability to follow instructions, safety regulations, and work as part of a team.

• Good attention to detail and time-management skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Forklift or equipment operation certification (preferred).

• At least 12 years of experience in cargo handling, logistics, or warehouse operations (training may be provided).
