Job Description - Case Aide Worker

                                                                                    


                                                                                         CASE AIDE WORKER





GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 


 


The Case Aide is a full-time permanent program support position.  The Case Aide provides assistance and support to the front-line workers responsible for case management services to children in care of the agency.


 


RESPONSIBILITY:



The community-based Case Aide reports to the Resource Manager and the Kenora-based Case Aide reports to the Administration Coordinator.  The Case Aide will exercise the following duties under the supervision of the Resource Manager or Administrative Coordinator:



QUALIFICATIONS:


 



  • Community College Diploma or High School Diploma with 2 years’ direct related experience. However, with a combination of skills, education and experience may be considered.


 



  • Basic knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Regulations.




  • Sound knowledge of Customary Care and the philosophy of service delivery; the communities and family structure, as well as local First Nation customs and traditions.


 



  • Working knowledge of the administrative structure and operations of Kitapinoojiiminaanik Family Services including the service delivery model, policies, procedures and guidelines.


 



  • Strong commitment to help Anishinaabe children and their families by providing support services in ways that respect Anishinaabe cultural and spiritual practices.


 



  • Commitment to provide support services in the Anishinaabe context of extended family and community involvement.


 



  • Committed to always ensure the highest level of confidentiality.


 



  • Ability to establish and maintain purposeful relationships with staff, management, children and their families, and caregivers.


 



  • Ability to take direction and work within the philosophy, policies, procedures, and guidelines.


 



  • Experience working with high risk and special needs children.




  • General knowledge of children’s developmental needs.


 



  • Ability to prepare detailed case notes.


 



  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy being with children.




  • Good oral and written communication skills.


 



  • Current first aid and C.P.R. certificates.


 



  • Ability to flex daily work hours as determined by the Resource Manager or Administration Coordinator.


 



  • Must possess a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License and be willing to travel.


 



  • Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract; and


 



  • Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
