Job Description - Chemistry Quality Specialist

YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

We are looking for a Chemistry Quality Specialist in #106 - 8255 North Fraser Way, Burnaby V3N 0B9 CAN. Your mission will be to:

This position assists the department by supporting corporate quality and continuous improvement process, reviewing and finalizing Chemistry method validation data packages, creation and maintenance of local chemistry and quality system documents, participating in audits, and maintenance of local license and certification requirements.

Main activities: 

●Follow appropriate methods and SOPs on all tasks. Maintain quality control records
●Review data and finalize Chemistry method validation and verification packages
●Maintain database of validated and verified matrices for local Chemistry methods 
●Conduct Chemistry method audits as required
●Maintain local licenses and certifications, and ensure all requirements are met on an ongoing basis
●Update or create local Chemistry SOPs, Work Instructions and forms
●Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process
●Adhere to all safety policies
●Update equipment records on forms or in software systems as needed
●This position has the responsibilities and authority to identify departures from the quality system or test procedures and document such observations in accordance with the prescribed complaint system.
●Support QA by performing temperature mapping and equipment verifications as needed
●Perform other related tasks as needed

YOUR PROFILE

Profile: Must have a general knowledge of microbiology and chemistry, generally obtained from a related degree or job experience, to analyze and interpret quality control data accurately.

Required skills:
●A basic knowledge of food science is necessary to analyze the microbiological or chemical content of food samples.
●A broad knowledge of laboratory procedures and policies is necessary to develop and maintain appropriate quality control systems and employee training programs.
●A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to ensure accuracy of client data.
●A general knowledge of personal computer software and basic data entry skills are needed to generate special reports and calculate quality control results.
●Planning skills are needed to ensure that analysis tasks are completed in a timely manner.
●Oral and written communication skills are required to write special reports and work with laboratory personnel on quality issues.

Work Environment:
The incumbent works in an administrative office with proper lighting andtemperature control. This positioninvolves some exposure to laboratory settings where the necessary safetyequipment is required. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, andmaterials will occur when in the laboratory. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be required.
