Chief Financial Officer

We want a star who will drive the financial health of the company, as fast as our climate and data scientists drive our products. We’re not looking for CFO 101. It’s about innovation, imagination and skill. It’s about leadership, executive presence, strategic thinking and passion for doing something meaningful in a world which is going downhill.

We’re a blue-chip startup, and we need a blue-chip CFO. We need to speak to our investors and motivate them to be part of our team. We need to ensure that every venture capital firm is interested in our potential impact and vying to join us. We want them to see that our finances are managed as well as the software and data we produce. We want them to know we are future-proofed and stable. We need, in short, someone who can do for us what Sarah Friar did for Square.

We want someone who is data-driven, can recognize the technical benefits of our products, understand a platform model, cost the entire production flow, and express the details with which we govern the company. We want them to do this in a way that makes our future clients sit up and take notice. We want someone who can work hand-in-hand with the CEO and executive team, communicate internally and externally with the marketing team, and understand the power of branding.

Someone who can understand the technology but isn’t afraid to ask questions when they don’t. Someone who, like a bulldog, won’t let go until they grasp the real essence of our products. Someone who gets deep into our process and influences the direction of our products. Someone who likes communicating and communicates clearly. Above all, a team player who loves working with – and learning from – a team of passionate inventors, technologists, scientists, and data engineers. A person who’s on top of every market development and checks out every possible competitor or partner. A Lego builder who can put the pieces together to help us scale a product that will change the world.
