Working with the executive leadership team, the Lead Portfolio Architect will lead the Enterprise Architecture team to provide architectural stewardship for the entire Merge software portfolio. The Lead Portfolio Architect will apply a nuanced understanding of the portfolio’s unique needs and challenges to optimize innovation design, technology application and underlying consistency. They will bring a wide breadth of knowledge, insight, and experience of the cloud operating model and CNCF. They will meet the product teams where they are, collaborating with stakeholders in development, product, implementation, and service, to define and execute Merge’s cloud strategy.

Basic Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in software development and architecture
• Five (5) years of medical imaging workflow and informatics experience.
• Deep knowledge of cloud technology, and experience including any of AKS, EKS, or GKS.
• Experience within all aspects of SDLC in a regulated industry.
• Demonstrated history of providing cloud-based solutions that achieved multi-zone deployments, high-availability, and disaster recovery. 
• Demonstrated breadth and depth of knowledge regarding the CNCF project ecosystem.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Preferred: experience in management
• Preferred: experience in running a guild or matrixed functional team

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic architectural leadership to the Enterprise Architecture team.
• Establish a roadmap, operating model, and steward the success of an Internal Development Platform team to support all products within the portfolio.
• Work with stakeholders across business segments on workload rationalization, cloud adoption, and executing the cloud strategy more effectively.
• Establish and lead the formation of an Architectural Review Board.
• Establish consistency in the Architect role and Mentor early architects
