Honorarium Position

Overview

The Chief Returning Officer (CRO) is responsible for the coordination, organization, and execution of ASUS elections. This role is essential in maintaining a fair, transparent, and well-managed electoral process. The CRO ensures all candidates and election team members adhere to ASUS election policies and guidelines.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term: May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours: 5-6 hours per week

Honorarium: Awarded based on the Honorarium Grid in the Human Resources Policy (Click here)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of ASUS elections, ensuring compliance with policies and smooth execution.
• Assist candidates with registration, campaign logistics, room bookings, and advertisement approvals.\
• Recruit and train Deputy Returning Officers and Elections Team Members alongside the Chief Electoral Officer and Governance Officer.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Office to raise awareness of elections and encourage student participation.
• Ensure all election processes align with ASUS policies, including running the all-candidates meeting and monitoring campaign conduct.
