We are seeking a fulltime Civil Technician Student in our Halifax, NS office for the Summer/Fall 2025 Term (May-December 2025). The successful candidate will have experience or interest in general construction activities, materials testing and inspection services.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• Experience with materials testing and inspection.    


• Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD) and surveying is considered an asset. 


• Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset

Main Duties:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

• Collect samples and perform laboratory and field testing of various construction materials, such as concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates, etc., to determine material properties and quality.     


• Testing of fresh concrete/grout/mortar and casting of laboratory specimens.


• Compaction testing of soil, aggregates, and asphalt concrete.


• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.


• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.


• Ability and willingness to work under varied weather conditions.


• Adhere to health and safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment.  


• Adhering to all company policies.


• Other duties as required.

Position:

• Contract (May-December 2025).
  


• Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
