Civil Technician (Winter COOP Term)

GEMTEC currently has an opening for a Civil Technician in our Dartmouth office location for the Winter 2026 COOP Term (January to April 2026).  

You’re an ideal candidate if you have: 

• Experience or interest in general construction activities, materials testing and inspection services. 

• A desire to get hands-on experience in your field of study.  

• The initiative to find the next task without being told. 

A typical day on the job might look like: 

• Performing laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt. 

• Performing field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt. 

• Adhering to all company policies. 

• Performing other duties as . 

The good stuff you get: 

• COOP Term position available (4 months) 

• 37.5 hours per week plus overtime  

• Experience working with specialists in the field  

• Compensation for mileage driving to sites 

Your background and what you bring:  

• Experience with materials testing and inspection. 

• Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset. 

• Valid driver’s license
