GEMTEC currently has openings for Civil Technician/Technologist(s) at our Saint John office located at 589 Rothesay Avenue, Saint John, New Brunswick, E2H 2G9. 

The ideal candidates will have experience in general construction activities, with materials testing and inspection experience considered an asset.
 

Educational & Experience Requirements:  

• College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. 


• Two years experience in civil construction.
  


• Experience with materials testing and inspection.
  


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 


• Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.
  


• Possess ability to lift 30-50 lbs routinely as required.
  


• Currently certified or eligible to become certified as a Professional Technologist (PTech) in accordance with provincial regulatory requirements.

 Main Duties:

• Laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt.
  


• Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  


• Various office, laboratory and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
  


• Conduct construction surveys to support engineering projects.  


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables.
  


• Communicate project updates, milestones, and potential issues to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  


• Other duties as required.

Position:

• Permanent, Full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Language of work: English   


• Must have a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.  


• Salary range: $52,650- $56,500 per year
