Job Description - Class 1 Driver

Position Summary
Argus Properties is hiring Class 1 Drivers to support our growing team in Kelowna, BC. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the safe operation of all company vehicles driven between multiple job sites as required. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability.

Duties and responsibilities:

Safely operate gravel truck, water truck, 550, flat, and other company vehicles as required.
Experience operating a Telehandler is considered an asset
Conduct thorough pre-use safety inspections and perform preventative maintenance
Clean and maintain equipment (interior cab and exterior)
Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
Document and log work and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel receipts
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, etc.)
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents, or violations
Adhere to company health and safety program and OHS regulations
No smoking in any of the equipment and no garbage left in the equipment

Requirements:

Maintain valid Class 1 driver’s license
Proven work experience as a truck driver
Ability to drive long hours
Extensive knowledge of applicable rules and regulations
No recent moving or driving violations
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
Excellent physical fitness with ability to lift heavy objects
Good communication skills
