Class 1 Driver

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Night Driver based in Kentville, NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.  

Main Role:

This run departs from Kentville nightly and typically follow the route: Kentville - Dartmouth - Moncton - Dartmouth - Kentville. 

Shift: Mon-Thurs (6pm start)

•    Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard

•    Complete regular yard checks, including verifying all equipment onsite, fuel levels, reefer settings, and inside box temperatures

•    Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers, ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified

•    Execute other tasks as required

•    Occasional moves between terminals as required

 

•    Education Required: High School or GED.

•    Class 1 driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years’ safe tractor driving experience required. 

•    Clean driver’s abstract and criminal search.

•    Good communication skills.

•    Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

•    Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.

•    Excellent work ethic and reliability.

•    Safety conscious.
