Job Description - Class 3 Truck Driver & Labourer

Rentco Equipment Ltd. is a locally owned company with over 60 years of experience serving the Peace Country. Known for our reliable equipment and exceptional service, we support oilfield, construction, and homeowner clients across the region. Our reputation was built on having long-term staff who provide excellent customer service, having a well-stocked inventory of parts, sales, and rental equipment, and by hiring those who are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and who enjoy working as part of a team.

We are hiring a full-time Class 3 Truck Driver & Labourer to work at our Grande Prairie Head Office.

As the Class 3 Truck Driver & Labourer, you are responsible for:

Transporting rental equipment and paperwork to and from customer locations and between Rentco branches
Working as a Yard Hand at the shop when not driving
Providing excellent customer service by being friendly and professional and by offering suggestions or accommodating reasonable requests
Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensuring that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in working order and equipment is loaded according to legislation
Maintaining electronic logbooks according to Federal Hours of Service regulations
Ensuring load-related documentation is completed accurately
Recording information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems encountered
Ensuring that equipment and materials are loaded and unloaded safely using appropriate tools when required (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage to dispatch/Branch Manager
Alerting Branch Manager to any customer, mechanical, or delivery problems
Completing paperwork (electronic logbooks, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspections, etc.) timely and accurately

You have the following education, training, and skills:

Valid Class 3 Driver’s licence. We are not looking for Class 1 driver's at this time.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability work with people in a professional manner

You can work in the following conditions:

40 hours a week plus overtime when required
Traveling within the Peace County
Ability to lift heavy objects and sit for long periods of time
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing proper PPE
