This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical System Lead based in Canada.


We are seeking a Clinical System Lead to oversee the implementation, management, and delivery of clinical data systems supporting complex clinical research projects.
This role plays a key part in ensuring clinical technology solutions are configured, maintained, and optimized throughout the study lifecycle.
You will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to deliver high-quality clinical data solutions while maintaining project timelines and objectives.
The position combines clinical data expertise, technical understanding, project leadership, and stakeholder management.
You will contribute to the success of innovative healthcare research by helping teams efficiently collect, manage, and analyze clinical trial data.

Accountabilities:


The Clinical System Lead will be responsible for leading clinical data system activities, supporting project delivery, and ensuring effective collaboration between technical teams, clients, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:



  • Lead and coordinate one or more clinical data science project teams through system initiation, planning, configuration, maintenance, quality control, and project closeout activities.

  • Serve as a primary contact for internal teams, external customers, and study stakeholders regarding assigned clinical system activities.

  • Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and participating in client presentations, proposal discussions, and bid defense meetings.

  • Lead or support project kickoff meetings and ensure alignment on technical requirements, timelines, deliverables, and expectations.

  • Perform peer reviews of study documentation, technical deliverables, and project outputs to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Conduct quality control reviews of clinical data collection forms and related system documentation.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues impacting timelines, scope, or budgets, and escalate concerns when required.

  • Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to manage timelines, resources, deliverables, and changing project requirements.

  • Support system integrations, vendor coordination, and technical implementation activities where required.

  • Provide input into project forecasting, resource planning, revenue tracking, and operational reporting.

  • Lead internal user acceptance testing activities for configured clinical system solutions.

  • Travel approximately 15% domestically and/or internationally as required.


Requirements:


The ideal candidate brings clinical data management expertise, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage complex projects in a regulated healthcare environment. Required qualifications and skills include:



  • Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in clinical data management, including implementation and management of clinical data systems.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures, and the ability to create medium-to-complex data flow diagrams.

  • Experience applying project management principles, including timeline planning, resource estimation, and financial tracking.

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial protocols and data collection requirements, including both user experience and underlying data structures.

  • Ability to lead teams through system testing, validation, and implementation activities.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, processes, and project timelines in an agile environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with clients and cross-functional teams.

  • Professional fluency in English required.
